Afternoon Youth Development

The Afternoon Youth Development project includes both After School Enrichment and a High School Tutoring Project. This project is facilitated by 3 locals and 1 skilled Youth development project manager.

Our volunteer candidate would have experience or a formal education in working with children and young adults, English as a first language, an understanding of Maths or Science and other High School subjects and an interest in education. The work performed by Immersion SA participants will primarily involve teaching English, Maths, Computers, Sports and Art. Participants will also work with High School Literacy facilitators, tutoring students in English and Maths. With the addition of each new volunteer a new aspect of programme will develop with local teachers learning how to run modules effectively, so that once a volunteer leaves, they can continue the program. English speakers will contribute grammar and knowledge of the language as well as form friendships with learners and share Life skills
