Adult Education Project
This is a wonderful project for people interested in connecting with adults and sharing skills. The Adult Education Project encompasses literacy, basic computer skills training and business training. This project is run by three local facilitators (who can all speak English) and one skilled Adult Education Project Manager.
As a volunteer you will need English language skills, experience with computers (Microsoft Word, internet etc), and a basic idea of business concepts.
Although the courses are already developed, an interest in education and an ability to communicate concepts in clear and creative ways is required. As a volunteer, your role will include working with local facilitators to creatively teach and encourage adult participation in learning that includes, teaching computer and business skills, as well as monitoring and evaluating the project through questionnaires and observations.
The adult community will benefit from the transfer of skills through your mentorship of facilitators, as well as your one-on-one time with adults where you are able to guide, support and explain concepts in greater detail. Working with adults can be very rewarding and great connections can be made.
